Get to know our 2015/16 Committee
![]() Chair - Nathan SpencerI manage the committee, ensuring that the talented people who keep SuTCo ticking are supported throughout the academic year, while chairing general meetings, proposals, elections, and the AGM. As Chair, I delegate tasks to SuTCo’s committee, and act as the theatre company’s spokesperson, liaising with the University’s Drama Studio, theatrical venues around Sheffield, and the Student’s Union to ensure that we continue to facilitate student theatre to the highest possible standard. | ![]() Vice Chair - Martha RobertsAs vice chair, I work closely with Nathan and the rest of committee to make sure the good ship SuTCo stays on a steady course. As one of our committee's two inclusions officers, it's my job to ensure that our society is creating as many opportunities as possible for anyone who wants to get involved in theatre. I'm also responsible for our charitable outreach, organising a minimum of two fundraisers each year. |

![]() Secretary - Becky DanksMy role as secretary means making sure all the little things get sorted, so the big things get done. I take minutes at our committee meetings, write and send SuTCo’s weekly newsletter (many thanks, Becky Danks), book rooms for important events, reply to emails, and run the ticket reservation system for all of SuTCo’s shows. The other side of my job is organising socials! ![]() Projects and Workshops - Mark MehtaMy role alongside my counterpart is to put on theatre opportunities aide from the four main shows SuTCo puts on each semester. These include organising workshops and our 'Project Slot' which is a chance for more experimental theatre to take place. I also help facilitate the fortnightly SuTCo radio hour, for your listening pleasure! | ![]() Projects and Workshops - Becky GordoWe get all the fun jobs sourcing brilliant theatre companies from around the uk to do workshops with us as well as many different projects with charities and other societies (yay inclusions) |
![]() Show Publicist - Erin O'Neill | ![]() Digital Publicist - Pippa AtkinsonMy role as Digital Publicist involves all things, well, digital. From Social Media and the website to press releases it is my job to make sure all our fantastic shows, workshops and project get spammed to the high heavens. |
![]() External Publicist - Alex CosgriffChief putter-upper of posters and distributor of flyers. It's my job to make sure everyone hears about our shows by plastering SuTCo across every wall and hallway in the University. | ![]() Archivist - Ben PriceAs archivist it is my job to document the creation and performance of the 8 principle SuTCo shows each year, along with other projects along the way. By storing evidence of the rehearsal process through to the get-in day and eventually the execution of the show itself, the archives allow us quick access to previous set, costume and lighting ideas as well as publicity designs and overall concepts. |
![]() Front of House Officer- Tom WilliamsMy duties involve organising the ushers, box office and front of house staff for each performance of the various SuTCo productions, as well as the acquisition and sale of refreshments and possibly soon to be merchandise. | ![]() First Year Rep - Mike AlexanderAs first year rep I am essentially the first port of call for any and all first years in SUTCO and someone who will represent them on committee. I also am involved in organising a number of events over the year, as well as being in attendance at the weekly committee meeting. |
![]() Technical Officer - Chloe ChristianAs technical officer I act as a liaison between the production teams and our venue, The Drama Studio. I manage the health and safety/legal documents of one production a semester and generally lend my hand to anything technical wizardry they may need. | ![]() Technical Officer - David McNeillAs a Technical Officer I am assigned to one of four shows each semester. This role involves liasing with the Production team and the Drama Studio/External Venue to ensure that the technical aspects of the show are on time and conform to health & safety guidelines. This requires risk assessing and then managing the Get ins/Outs to ensure everything goes smoothly. It is also my responsibility to report back to the Committee on the progress of the show and any issues that may arise. |
![]() Technical Officer - Carys WilliamsI am a technical officer, which briefly means that as a team of 4 we are responsible for the health and safety of everyone who is in, or works on, a show.
